Recently the Pyongyang leisure and science departments had plenty of reason for celebrations. After the SciTech complex mentioned in one of my earlier posts the city opened the Munsu Waterpark in 2013. A leisurely paradise we were visiting incognito as guests before changing into our photographer outfits once more. As you can certainly imagine the incognito part wasn’t that effective. We borrowed a set of spandex shorts and went for some action on the water slides. But hiding a white male 200cm tattooed body in a state run swimming pool with dress coded looks and no individual body enhancements (say tattoo, piercing or any other of the flavors you’d see in your average western pool) this got almost obsolete.

Sheer size
The 15 hectare areal held many good opportunities for shots after enjoying the unofficial part. One thing these pictures don’t show is the sheer size of the complex. With almost two dozen slides some as adventurous as the hottest staff in the west and almost the same amount of pools you could get lost easily.
