Outbounds of the DMZ

On our way back from the DMZ we would stop in Kaesong which is the next town to the border that splits the Korean peninsula. In Kaesong we received a glorious lunch in an ancient Korean dining room. Sitting on the floor we feasted on pickles, noodles and various side dishes. The visit to the Unesco World Heritage sites of Songgyungwan, Tombs of the ancient Koryo dynasty kings and a mandatory stop at the Kim statues were processed in the fastest possible way. Once we would just enter the site to satisfy the tour itinerary and leave immediately after setting foot onto the premises.

Trip to Keasong

The town of Kaesong was more interesting and while a horde of school children was waiting for their friends to arrive back from the School children congress in Pyongyang we were mingling with the crowds to make sure not to miss this opportunity.

In the end however we left the place to the Folklore street where we were able to spend almost one hour of sunset time complete with beers and rotting rowing boats and the local prominence taking out their girls. The true highlight of the day.
