The other attractions of the aforementioned place. Wandering through abandoned places is a special thing I truly enjoy. It sparks my curiosity and the risk of getting caught raises my blood pressure.

It is interesting that a place like this does exist after almost 20 years. Yangon has an uprising beat and things are developing here and there. But on the other hand many of the old buildings are still around and waiting for renovations. I think Yangon would be a great place to live for some months.

I do really recommend to explicitly stay some days in the city instead of just seeing it as the starting or ending point for travel in Myanmar. Being only a stopover won’t do the city justice. For that reason I decided not to visit the main attraction aka the Shwedagon Pagoda. So I still have a reason to return one day.
