When I decided to travel with cabin baggage only, I thought it would be possible to travel as light as 7,5 KG overall carry-on weight. After I finally repacked my bag the 3rd time, I recognized this will be really difficult considering my technical equipment is already around 3KG. Nonetheless I managed to stuff everything inside my new Osprey Farpoint bag. The list is complete. That means some garments will always be in use. Before I left home the bag weighted around 9,5 KG.

Because I don’t know exactly where the travel will lead us to, I had to pack also warmer clothes. These will sit unused in the bag at least in South-East Asia. Better safe than sorry.

UPDATE (after 4 days) I removed some things. Which seemed unnecessary to carry around. This lightens things a little bit more.

  I must run in my Trekking Shoes or buy a pair of cheap ones if ever needed, it’s so hot here, I can’t even think about running. And on the other hand I’m walking about 10KM each day in Flip Flops. Nothing else needed to say.

Overall loss of 1.100G and I don’t have the feeling I’m covered worse. This could be changed once again later on. I thought about removing my Converter Lenses as well, but kept those, as photography is my main time consuming activity right now.

I also added another USB Mini cable so i can load batteries in camera and externally at the same time. Thinking about buying a Multi USB Charger soon. But MBK wanted 100THB for a cheap China plug – only 2,5 EUR, but you know, my swabian soul.
