The idea for the bike trip along the Via Rhona with kids was inspired by an article written by Astrid Därr earlier in 2022. When our neighbors asked us to embark with them to the trip in May 2024 we wouldn’t hesitate a second. Plans were made up-front and the cycling trip took place from a small town past Lyon all the way to Avignon.

Our tour was an example of good teamwork, coordination and preparation. Everyone contributed to the energy as he could and in hindsight the tour was pure bliss. Even though daily distances with ~40 KM were rather short compared to my earlier trips were it would have often over 100 KM a day the trip was physically demanding.
