Markets, rainforest and sunsets above town

I met new people the other night. Anca from Timisoara and Buff from Australia and we planned a roadtrip together. We rented scooters and drove all across the island of Phuket. We stopped at many different locations like a wake boarding and free climbing venue. From where we would continue our adventurous ride through small back lanes to get away from the main roads of the island. We came across local markets, tiny food stalls and a natural park in the last remains of what was once an evergreen rainforest covering most of the island.

The Ton Sai waterfall tucked away at the end of the natural park provided some well deserved refreshment of our sweaty souls. From the park we headed south-west to go on the road following the shoreline. We stopped for a basic dinner at a restaurant with a nice view over Patong town. An animal came to visit. I didn’t remember how large those mantis would get in Asia. Nonetheless a fun day out.
