After some rest I took the final chance to complete my diving sequence in Phuket by heading out to Phi Phi Island. The pictures don’t show it but the sea was very harsh this day. It took us almost 3 hours to get to the island only to find out that a storm was coming in on our way back. We just had one dive on the island and ventured back to get closer to the mainland before things went out of control.
In the end we were able to dive a second time this day at Koh Dok Mai where I had the awful frightening experience with no visibility on my first day of diving in Phuket. This time it turned out the water was much nicer. Koh Dok Mai is a wall dive where you can stay close to the wall and find a lot of marine life in the nooks and crannies of the wall. I happened to see my first turtle as well.
After all the day was good fun and set the mark for the final departure from Thailand for now.

Comments: Rocky and windy sea. Relative good visibility, lots of Problems with fogging mask. Guide Julie was very aware of different species and would click her tank and point out many specialties to see. Very knowledgeable and kind guide. Says she has more than 25.000 dives experience in 26 years of diving.

Comments: Much better than the first time. Nice wall dive with a moderate current. Drift. Saw a sea turtle and small sharks and crabs. Wall was covered with a large amount of fish. Did not enter the caves this time but saw way more marine life. When running low on air I would be on the alternate air source of our Guide Julie for the safety stop.
