When you travel for a whole year chances are high you’ll celebrate your birthday at least once during your trip. Yesterday was my 36th birthday and I was celebrating it with a chance to go out on a sea kayak to find some whales again. We were in Port McNeill on Vancouver Island and booked a tour to go out in Kayaks and look for whales. When the morning fog lifted off of the water I was able to spot Humpbacks in a distance of 30-40 meters from my Kayak. They were breaching out of the water but the distance was a lot more then the first time on a zodiac. The paddling itself wasn’t that strenuous as my Hawaii experience still adds to my fitness level.
Handling a camera while handling a carbon paddle is a difficulty on top when you don’t want to test your eskimo roll skills unintentionally so I wasn’t able to deliver many action shots.
